What is Salvation?

Salvation in Christianity refers simply to the great act of God's redemption and deliverance in history. The gospel message is rooted in the belief that God has offered salvation to anyone who would believe in the finished work of His son, Jesus Christ. God demonstrated His ability to save us from His wrath and judgment by sending Jesus to die in our place. Through His blood, His death and His resurrection, Christ has purchased salvation on our behalf and has forgiven us of sin. It is a free gift that was bought with a costly sacrifice. Salvation proves to each of us that God truly loved this world and was willing to have grace, compassion and mercy upon them.

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (Romans 10:9-11)
